Texas Music Educators Association and Ensemble Block Continue Partnership

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Austin, TX — [May 18, 2026]

TMEA and Ensemble Block Continue Partnership Offer Free All-State Audition Resources to Texas Students and Teachers

The Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) and Ensemble Block, a premium video production and learning platform, are continuing their partnership for the 2026–2027 All-State audition season.

Ongoing collaboration expands free access to expert-led video lessons and reference recordings across all five TMEA All-State ensembles for the 2026–2027 audition season.

Building on the success of last year’s pilot, this ongoing collaboration provides Texas high school students with complimentary access to a dedicated TMEA Portal — offering high-quality instructional resources across all five All-State ensembles: Orchestra, Mariachi, Band, Jazz, and Choir.

Preparation is already underway. Orchestra etude selectors have begun submitting instructional videos, with the Orchestra portal now in production and scheduled for a June 1, 2026, release. Jazz and Mariachi materials are scheduled for release on June 15, 2026, and July 1, 2026, respectively, followed by Band materials on August 1, 2026.

The TMEA Portal features video lessons and reference recordings created by this year’s All-State Etude Selectors — the same educators who curate the audition materials. These expert-led resources guide students through the nuances of the audition repertoire, offering technical insights and playing tips directly from TMEA’s roster of world-class music educators.

The platform’s interactive tools — including synchronized music notation, adjustable playback speed, and looping features — give students a structured, repeatable way to study and internalize their audition material at their own pace.

“Our continued partnership with Ensemble Block is a vital step in TMEA’s commitment to ensuring every music student in Texas has access to the highest quality audition resources, regardless of their background or location. By providing free instructional videos directly from our All-State Etude Selectors, we are leveling the playing field and empowering our educators to guide their students toward success in the 2026–2027 All-State audition process.”

— Joe Muñoz, Executive Director, Texas Music Educators Association

“Ensemble Block is founded on the belief that all students deserve access to world-class teachers. We are thrilled to continue this vital partnership, collaborating with the TMEA Division VPs and Deputy Director, Mike Howard to bring the highest-quality, expert-led instruction to TMEA’s students and educators. With interactive tools like synchronized music notation and at-your-own-pace features, our platform is designed to extend access to great teaching for every student, regardless of their location or resources.”

— Huei-Yuan Pan, Co-Founder and CEO, Ensemble Block
