How to Onboard Students into Ensemble Block

Following this step-by-step guide ensures your students successfully onboard, engage with the content, and maximize their learning potential.

Step 1: Student Sign-Ups (Onboard as a Class)

  1. Create free student logins:
  2. Bookmark the platform:
    • Add a shortcut icon to students’ devices.
    • Save the platform as a bookmark for quick access.

Tip: Walk students through setting up bookmarks and shortcuts as a class activity to ensure everyone has easy access to the platform.

Step 2: View Director’s Report (DR)

  1. Verify your teacher account settings:
  2. Manage student rosters:
    • Archive students who have graduated or left the program.
  3. Send updated student rosters to our support team:
    • Include all schools and classes you manage.
    • If students are transitioning from middle school to high school, mark them with an *asterisk so we can update their portal.*

Pro Tip: Regularly review your DR to keep your reports organized and focused on active students.

Step 3: Review Available Content

  1. Explore educational resources:
    • All-State Performances and Lessons
    • Region Performances and Lessons
    • Evergreen performance and lesson content
  2. Request additional resources:
    • Share any content requests or projects with our support team for customized recommendations.

Enhancement Idea: Schedule brief review sessions to explore new content updates as they become available, helping students stay engaged and informed.

Step 4: Activate Students During Class

  1. Troubleshoot login issues:
    • Have all students log in during class to ensure they have access.
    • Assist with password resets and other account issues.
  2. Demonstrate platform usage:
    • Show students how to navigate the platform and find relevant content.
    • Model how they can integrate the platform into their practice routines.
  3. Integrate videos into assignments:
    • Assign specific videos as part of practice tests, playing assessments, or homework.
    • Encourage students to explore and share their favorite videos within the class.

Retention Strategy: Hold periodic check-ins with students to discuss their experience with the platform, gathering feedback for continuous improvement.


Tips for Success

  • Encourage students to log in at home as well, reinforcing the habit of using the platform regularly.
  • Incorporate brief tutorials or platform navigation quizzes to ensure students are comfortable with the interface.
  • Use the platform to support your in class during rehearsal and playing tests
