Co-founded by Huei-Yuan Pan, Karl Arrieta and Eric Carraway, these three lifelong musicians and teachers came together to meet the demands of an ever-changing education landscape.

Sean Anderson

Notation Sync Lead

Sean spent most of his life in East Syracuse, NY, where he is from. Sean marched with the White Sabers for two seasons (’17,’18) and was offered a chance to be a part of the Matrix family. Sean eventually auditioned for Phantom Regiment and ended up being offered another amazing chance. When he is not on a field/floor Sean enjoys dancing, composing/arranging/writing, and listening to/making music.

Brenda Poon

Social Media

Brenda is based in Hong Kong, she is an active freelance percussionist and drummer, performing with orchestras, wind bands, and ensemble groups. She is the co-founder of the percussion quartet “Rhombus”.

In addition to her performing career, Brenda is an experienced percussion educator and percussion band conductor, leading school groups to outstanding results in competitions. She also serves as an adjudicator for percussion and marching band events.

Daniel Sato

Social Media

Daniel is originally from Tucson, Arizona and currently lives in Fukui, Japan where he is fluent in both English and Japanese. Daniel has been drumming for 7 years, plays in two local bands, and likes to learn new songs and make cover videos in his free time. Daniel aims to be a well-rounded drummer who can play any type of music.

Jackson Arnold

Video Edit Lead

Jackson is an aspiring filmmaker and percussionist from Upstate New York. Jackson had the privilege to perform on snare drum with many ensembles over the past few years including United Percussion, Mandarins Drum & Bugle Corps, Pulse Percussion, and Boston Crusaders (for the oncoming season). In his spare time, Jackson likes to work his creative muscle through videography and editing. Jackson graduated in 2019 with an Associates Degree in New Media which expanded his knowledge and understanding of the many elements of media and film.

Andrew Trent Curry

EB Collaborator and Video Specialist

Andrew Trent Curry is an award winning soloist, teacher, performer, and composer from Central Texas. Since starting 6th grade percussion class in 2009, Trent now has 15+ years worth of musical experience, specializing in marching percussion.

Nicholas Hall

Video Specialist

Nicholas Hall is an active composer, percussionist, educator and arranger with a strong passion for creating new sounds and textures. He seeks to expand beyond the realm of a single genre; taking influence from his diverse musical background, he works to fuse these genres into a single multi-genre style. His music has been described as “beautifully ambient” with “smooth and rich dynamics of the timbre sonorities” alongside “strong rhythmic vitality and clear textures.” Nicholas continues to push himself and others beyond certain comfort levels in order to create a unique voice among other artists of the 21st century.

Lex Benes

Video Specialist

Lex Benes is a landscape designer who enjoys playing all styles of percussion.  He has previously worked for Opera Santa Barbara and Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes, and is interested in pursuing a graduate degree to study Music Cognition and Perception.  He performs weekly with Gamelan Sinar Surya, a group dedicated to preserving, teaching and performing Gamelan music. He has visited Indonesia twice to study the language, music, dance (and eat good food!)

Jacob Singer

Video Specialist

Jacob Singer was born and raised in Huntington Beach, California. He is a graduate of Fountain Valley High School and currently attends California State University, Fullerton where he studies Entertainment and Tourism. Jacob began his drum corps career in 2013 at Pacific Crest and went on to march four seasons with them. Jacob has served on staff at schools including Canyon Springs High School (NV) in 2016, Gahr High School in 2017 and Esperanza High School in 2017, 2018 and 2019. Aside from Music, Jacob is also a huge baseball fan and enjoys playing with the CSUF Club Baseball team in the Spring.

Will Jung

Notation Specialist

Will Jung is an active music educator, performer, composer, arranger, and marching arts show designer. He is a native of Fayetteville, North Carolina, and received his Bachelor’s in Music Education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He holds a Master’s in Music Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and is currently pursuing his DMA in Music Education from Boston University. 

Will is currently the director of bands at Socastee High School in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. His previous positions include teaching orchestra and band in North Carolina and in China. Will is currently an executive board member of the South Carolina Band Director’s Association where he serves as the Multi-Cultural Chair. In the marching arts, he is the current Brass Caption Head for the Carolina Gold Drum and Bugle Corps. He was also a member of the first cohort of the DCI In-Step Fellowship where he interned with the Concord Blue Devils.

Mariano Mari

Notation Specialist

Mariano Mari was born in San Calogero, Italy. He started playing drums in Middle School, where he was introduced to classical percussion.

He is a student at Vito Capialbi High School, where he studies classical percussion, violin, and electric bass. He has been the drummer of the school jazz band, and a member of their orchestra.

He is also a transcriber; he has worked on some transcriptions with Japanese drummer Kosuke Tucker, and sells his own on DrumSetSheetMusic.com, under the name “Mari_DrumTranscriptions”.

Cameron Johnston

Notation Specialist

Cameron Johnston has his Bachelors in Music Composition and is currently working on his Masters in Music Composition with Interactive Media from California State University, Long Beach. His primary instrument is Tuba but he also plays most brass instruments and piano. Cameron works often with experimental Theater and Dance, having works performed and premiered in Los Angeles, Off-Off-Broadway in New York, and Seoul, Korea. When not performing or composing, Cameron likes to spend time with his three dogs: Millie, Mika, and Mabel, as well as reading

Nvayo Ndongwa

Notation Specialist

Nvayo has been involved in the marching arts for over 7 years. He has marched with White Sabers and Matrix and plans on auditioning for DCI in the fall. He is also a member of the Buffalo Bills Stampede Drumline. When he’s not working or playing, he spends his free time writing music or dancing.

Jason Guzman

Graphic Specialist

Jason Guzman is a graphic designer with a focus on social media content and branding. With a background in music performance from the University of Texas at San Antonio, he brings a creative and detail-oriented approach to visual storytelling. A proud Bluecoats and UTSA Indoor alumni, he blends design and musicianship to create engaging visuals that resonate with the performing arts community. 

Liam Guiritan

Graphic Specialist Lead

Liam Guiritan is a graphic design major at DePaul University in Chicago, IL. He currently serves as the Public Relations Officer for the Philippine student group on campus and takes photos during meetings and events. He also takes photos for other organizations on campus.

In high school, Liam was a member of the front ensemble and was a section leader for two of those years. He also was involved in the percussion ensemble, where he designed the cover of the program of his school’s annual percussion concert. 

 

Robyn Pagulayan

Graphic Specialist

Robyn is a sophomore at DePaul University, studying Public Relations and Advertising (PRAD) with a minor in graphic design. She is a member of DePaul’s K-Pop dance group. 

In her free time, she likes to explore the city (when not in the middle of a pandemic).

She has loved music ever since she was little and is looking forward to combining her love for music and passion for design with Drumline Blueprint and Ensemble Block!
