Huei-Yuan Pan is a Northern California-based professional musician, online content creator specializing in building community, and CEO and Chief of Strategy of Ensemble Block, an educational technology company on a mission to help teachers leverage the power of video and technology to serve their students.
In 2018, Huei joined an educational software startup in Boston as the Executive Creative Director, bridging his work in education, digital media, and original content creation. Previous to that, he served five years as Founding Director of the Jumpstart Young Musicians Program (JYMP) at the Colburn School, a performing arts institution in the heart of downtown Los Angeles.
His drum corps experience includes performing with the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps (Snare, 2001) and The Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps (Snare, 2002-2003; Front Ensemble, 2004). From 2008-2011, Huei served as Director and Arranger for Green Thunder Percussion, what eventually became Cavalier Indoor Percussion, and in 2013-2014, as Percussion Caption Head for Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps.
Huei has broadcasted over 500+ live streams, including his free Sunday Sessions, a rudimental percussion lesson series where he provides access and community for people passionate about teaching and learning how to play rudimental marching percussion.
He continues to teach a small, private studio online, and his recent projects include his first book entitled the Marching Percussion Playbook, and community-centered online video courses, Drumline Blueprint Complete, Left Hand Trad Pro, and most recently, CBDA 2021. His podcast centered on Artists, Teachers and Creators is available on iTunes, Google Play, Stitcher, Libsyn, and Spotify – The Huei-Yuan Pan Show.
